What We Collect

When you create a certificate, we collect:

Your full name
Your email address
Your work title and type
Your certification tier
Your IP address and browser user-agent at the time of signing
Payment metadata from Stripe (we do not store card numbers)

What Is Public

The following information appears on your public verification page (swornwork.com/verify/{cert_id}):

Your full name
Your work title
Your certification tier
The date your declaration was signed
The certificate ID
A truncated SHA-256 hash of your declaration

Your email address and IP address are never displayed publicly.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data to issue and maintain your certificate, send you your certificate and badge by email, and maintain the public verification record. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Data Retention

Certificate records are retained indefinitely as part of the public declaration registry. You may request revocation of your certificate by contacting [email protected], but the revoked record will remain visible with a REVOKED status.

Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you are in the European Economic Area or California, you have the right to:

Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Deletion — Request deletion of your data (note: sworn declaration records are retained as permanent legal records and cannot be deleted)
Portability — Request your data in a portable format
Objection — Object to processing of your personal data

To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days. Note: sworn declarations filed under 28 U.S.C. § 1746 constitute legal records and the declaration text, date, and declarant name cannot be deleted, as these form part of the permanent public record.

Third-Party Services

We use Stripe for payment processing and Brevo for transactional email. Both are subject to their own privacy policies.
